BIOGRAPHY

I was born the son of a Professor of Electrical Engineering who taught at the University of New Mexico. Growing up, I would accompany my father to the university where I would play games (rogue!) and program in Basic. Since the 7th grade, I have enrolled in computer language courses. I received my B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder and my M.S. from the University of Arizona, Tucson.

I got introduced to white water rafting through a Christian ministry. I would spend my weekends in college taking youth groups down the mighty Rio Grande. My most harrowing experience was down Pine Creek stretch on the Arkansas River. I was captain, with a crew of three, when I was washed out 50 feet into the rapid. Luckily, I was able to get back into the raft because, due to the water in the raft, the top of the raft was at the level of the river! Kevin enforcing his will

I grew up building with Legos and never lost my enjoyment of them. During the winter break of my first year at UofA, I decided to build something with Legos. I ended up buying numerous kits because I didn't have enough. Probably my favorite model was a version of the Pathfinder Lander that I designed while I was still at the Lunar and Planetary Labs.

As a soccer player, I have played all positions on the field; however, I am most talented as fullback. Unfortunately, I haven't scored in an official game. I did get close once: the other team was busy arguing with the referee when I took a shot from the half line. The ball missed the goal by just a few feet while I tumbled to the ground with a torn quadricep.
